In 2022, I started my Substack A to Zeitgeist, informed Berkshire County about the existence of SlugChrist, interviewed Animal Collective, wrote about The Bushwick Bachelor in The New York Times, published more pandemic heartbreak as a finalist in the 2022 Modern Love College Essay Contest, talked to Courtney Barnett about her new music festival, talked to Alex Edelman about his standup, talked to Madeline Sayet about Shakespeare and colonialism, wrote about Chelsea Manning’s first DJ set in 15 years for The New York Times Styles, previewed JACK NY’s Radical Acts Festival, and wrote about the Old Jewish Men Fall Ball for Sunday Styles.

2021

In 2021, I was pretty busy studying abroad at Oxford, but I found some time to write about the social media app Clubhouse, to review the film The World to Come, to interview up and coming band Sammy Rae & the Friends , and to write about esperanza spalding’s new opera, Iphigenia!

2020

In 2020, I wrote about pandemic heartbreak for New York Times Modern Love’s Tiny Love Stories, reviewed Fiona Apple’s Fetch the Bolt Cutters, penned an essay on pimple popping, wrote about summer festival shutdowns in the Berkshires, covered virtual theatre and more at the Berkshire Eagle, reviewed Godspell (the only Equity-approved musical to take place in the United States!), dug into Charlie Kaufman’s I’m Thinking of Ending Things, and more!

In 2019, I wrote about 600 Highwaymen’s participatory theatre, sketched a history of step, chatted with artist Trenton Doyle Hancock in his Mind of the Mound exhibition at MASS MoCA, covered a new music venue in North Adams, MA, profiled a museum’s Black Feminist book club, wrote about a art education program for people living with dementia, interviewed poet Franny Choi, and more!
